RSVP ADA Compliance Policy
Carroll County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding disability discrimination and accommodation, with one “Modifications to Policies and Procedures.”
Carroll County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its employment, programs, and activities. Employment: Carroll County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with the ADA title I employment regulations. Program: RSVP does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its volunteer-based service programs. Activities: RSVP does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its fundraising opportunities and exercise programs.
Effective Communication: RSVP will, upon request, provide auxiliary aids and services leading to effective communication for people with disabilities, including qualified sign language interpreters, assistive listening devices, documents in Braille, and other ways of making communications accessible to people who have speech, hearing, or vision impairments.
Modifications to Policies and Procedures: Unfortunately, since the RSVP Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Program is a volunteer-based service and our volunteer drivers use their own vehicles for transporting clients, we do not have vehicles that are able to accommodate wheelchairs. If a client is wheelchair bound and needs transportation to a medically related appointment, RSVP refers the client to Tri-County Transit, Gibson Center for Senior Services, or the Mobility Manager for Region 2 New Hampshire.
