BECOME A VOLUNTEER

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Carroll County (RSVP) is a free program through AmeriCorps Seniors. It strives to provide meaningful volunteer opportunities for adults age 55-plus while meeting local needs and responding to priorities of national significance.
You have gained a lifetime of experience. Now is the time to put your skills and talents to good use by volunteering through RSVP.

Benefits of volunteering with RSVP include:
  • Personalized Matching: Carroll County RSVP has over four decades of experience in matching volunteers with opportunities to meet community needs.  We are here to find you the right opportunity for your passions, skills, interests, and your schedule.
  • Volunteer Insurance: Excess accident medical coverage and automobile liability insurance while volunteering.
  • Recognition: RSVP members are eligible for annual recognition including the Spirit of New Hampshire Awards, special events and more.
  • RSVP Communications: Newsletters, e-news, website including new opportunities, events, training opportunities and more.
To qualify as a volunteer, you must:
  • Be 55 years of age or older and in good general health
  • Be flexible and available with service activity schedules
  • Have dependable transportation available and be willing to travel in the service area
  • Have compassion, patience, flexibility and respect for others
  • Work well with diverse individuals, families, groups and organizations

Benefits of working with RSVP staff to fill a volunteer position:
  • Personalized Volunteer Recruitment and Matching: RSVP staff will work closely with stations to find the best match through development of volunteer position descriptions, recruitment efforts, placements and addressing any issues/concerns.
  • Let us help you recognize your volunteers! RSVP is dedicated to recognizing our volunteers and holds annual volunteer appreciation day as a way to recognition all our volunteers and say“Thank You” for all the time they invest in their community. Station representatives are also part of the volunteer appreciation day celebration.
  • Volunteer Insurance: RSVP Volunteers are covered through free supplemental insurance for personal injury during travel between their homes and places of assignment, during volunteer service, and while attending project sponsored activities.
  • RSVP Communications: RSVP volunteers will receive RSVP quarterly newsletters. The newsletters inform volunteers of RSVP events and provide a way for RSVP to celebrate their volunteers. RSVP staff encourages volunteers to contact RSVP staff if they would like to include a story on their volunteer experience.
